Other animals at Blithbury
In addition to our stunning Reindeer we have a menagerie of animals at Blithbury Reindeer Lodge, many of whom have featured in television programmes and films as The Reindeer Man has been working in this industry for over 20 years.
We have a number of donkeys at the Lodge who we take out to village fetes and school events throughout the year to provide donkey rides. This year we also had a surprise foal join our donkey herd, Curly Sue, who is as cute as a button and will no doubt be a huge hit with our visitors.
Goats & Deer
In our “Albert Square” paddock we have a number of goats that live happily alongside Albert and Victoria, our two Red Deer. Albert is a bit of a celebrity, having worked with the Reindeer Man on the film Braveheart in 1995. Now at the grand old age of 22, Albert spends most of the day basking in the sunshine and watching the goats lock horns, although he will grace us with his presence for the odd polo or banana!
Chickens & Sheep
We never go short of eggs at Blithbury Reindeer Lodge with our collection of hens that roam free across the fields (and car park) of the Lodge. Both our chicken and sheep have featured in children’s television programmes, along with our goats and donkeys.
Our Shetland and miniature Shetland ponies are some of the cutest but cheekiest animals on the Lodge. They get up to all sorts of trouble but love being fussed by our visitors.
