Toddler Day Events

Toddler Days are designed for parents and grandparents that have pre-school children and want to attend the lodge during the week.

The magic at the lodge will be the same as our Christmas Experience, but tailored for little ones. During weekdays in term time you will find the Lodge quieter and more relaxed. You will the opportunity to hand feed our Reindeer, meet our friendly Elves and of course meet Santa

Due to the young age of the children that attend Toddler Days some children would become upset and apprehensive to go in to see Santa. We found in previous years that this resulted in delays in the time slots and Elf School running behind, so we have tailored Elf school for 2017.  There will be colouring sheets and crayons to occupy tiny hands, you’ll have the opportunity to see all the traditional Scandinavian harnesses and even the harness that Santa uses for his reindeer on the big night!  The Elves will invite each family group to see Santa from the moment you arrive into Elf School to avoid any unnecessary delays.

Santa’s grotto is cosy so each booking is limited to a maximum of 5 people who can go through to Elf School and on to see Santa. If there are more adults in your group additional adult tickets can be purchased (subject to availability) the ticket will allow entry to the lodge but NOT to Elf School or Santa. Any additional members in your group would be free to meet and greet the reindeer and take part in all the other activities at the lodge.

Elsewhere on the farm, Elves will be sitting by our roaring fire to tell the wonderful story of how Santa came to leave his reindeer at Blithbury Reindeer Lodge, written by a local writer Tamsin Wood! No visit is complete without stopping by our Christmas shops to stock up on gifts and mementos, including our specially commissioned Blithbury Reindeer cuddly toy and don’t forget to collect you Elf School certificate.
On the courtyard, children can write a last minute letter to Santa in our Elves workshop and you can enjoy a cup of tea in the lovely Blithbury Vintage Tearoom.

To see Santa’s reindeer hard at work and getting in plenty of practice for Christmas Eve, our trained reindeer are waiting to the take you in a traditional Scandinavian sleigh for a ride around our set sleigh track. A sleigh ride can be booked at the ticket office on the day of your visit.

Throughout the day our experienced members of staff and Senior Reindeer Handlers will be giving talks all about our reindeer on the farm, learn about reindeer behaviour and the characters we have at the Lodge.
